Mesa Furnace & Controls Upgrade

A 17-year-old furnace with a failing gas valve and corroded controls — rebuilt into a safe, quiet, two-stage heating system over two days.

The challenge

The homeowner called after two no-heat nights and a faint gas odor near the utility closet. Our safety sweep found a sticking gas valve, a corroded control board, and a heat exchanger at the end of its rated life. Spot repairs would have kept an unsafe furnace limping along — so we recommended a full upgrade instead.

The approach

We installed a two-stage 96% AFUE furnace with an ECM variable-speed blower, new sealed venting, a media air cleaner, and zoning-ready controls for the home's upstairs-downstairs split. Combustion and CO readings were documented at startup and left with the homeowner.

"They found the gas issue our old company missed twice. The new furnace is so quiet I keep checking that it's actually running."
